Assistant Professor of Spanish

Description The Department of Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese at The Pennsylvania State University invites applications for a tenure-track position in Early Modern Peninsular Studies at the rank of Assistant Professor.  Given our department's comparative and interdisciplinary orientation, we are particularly interested in candidates who are committed to advancing methodological and theoretical approaches in the field and whose research challenges canonical conceptions of literature. The ideal candidate will pursue creative collaboration with programs and departments at Penn State, including the Committee for Early Modern Studies, The Center for Medieval Studies, Comparative Literature, Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies, History, Visual Studies, and the Global Studies Program. The position requires both undergraduate and graduate teaching and mentoring, and participation in the full range of faculty responsibilities.
