Description The Donald P. Bellisario College of Communications is seeking a self-motivated, detail-oriented, and dedicated individual with a commitment to teamwork to join the Financial Office team as an Assistant Financial Officer/Financial Coordinator 5. This position is a reviewer and final approver on various business processes related to budgetary documents, human resources, travel reimbursements, purchasing, and vendor payments. As such, they are responsible for ensuring that forms are correct, comply with policies, and contain accurate information. This position provides an advanced level of oversight in budgets including, but not limited to: general, gift, endowment, research, and other auxiliary funds. Oversee billing and collection activities. Assess and monitor fees to students via LionPath, work closely with Bursar's Office. Assists the Financial Officer with annual processes such as the development of initial operating budget preparation and implementation, salary enactment and confirmation, inventory, audits, and carry-forward analysis. Responsible for conducting routine budget maintenance, managing authorizations, and assigning roles as needed. Perform a variety of research, analysis, and reporting duties. Manage pay and effort and maintain financial controls as defined by university policy. Review and assist with budget and position approvals within University systems. Coordinate monthly financialprocesses across departments. Provide appropriate staff training and system access. Perform complex, diverse and confidential administrative duties. Responsible for financial record retention, audit functions; implementation, documentation and communication of internal operating procedures. Typically requires an Associate's degree or higher plus eight years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
