Postdoctoral Scholar

DESCRIPTION The laboratory of Kenneth Knappenberger in the Department of Chemistry, at The Pennsylvania State University, seeks to fill a Postdoctoral Research position with an individual who has extensive experience in ultrafast laser spectroscopy.  Specifically, strong skills in optics, laser pulse diagnostics, optical parametric conversion, and transient data analyses are required. Experience in synthesis, characterization, and preparation of nanoparticle solutions and films would also be appreciated but is not required. The applicant must have recently received, or be scheduled to receive, a Ph.D. in chemistry, or related area, by the time employment starts. The individual should be highly self-motivated and is expected to lead their own individual projects as well as contribute to collaborative research efforts. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one-year from the date of hire with a possibility of re-funding. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
