Data Analyst 3

Description The Data Analyst 3 Software Tester will be a member of the stewardship team within the Office of Donor Relations and Special Events. This position will evaluate application updates, enhancements, and new features for the University's Donor Stewardship management application (eSteward). Working as a member of the eSteward development team, which also includes the Associate Director of Stewardship and the eSteward software engineering team, the tester will become an expert in eSteward business processes and criteria. He/she will be able to communicate these processes to both functional end users and the eSteward team for the purposes of problem identification, troubleshooting and resolution. He/she will be assigned other support duties as required, including assisting with ongoing eSteward data assurance testing, creating requested standard and/or ad hoc reports, and supporting LionPATH and SIMBA integrations. Responsibilities include performing quality assurance activities, such as: Work with the eSteward team to identify testing cases/methods for application updates; Test application functionality to determine whether the updates/data meet specifications or requirements; Perform comparison testing to confirm that source system data is reflected accurately in eSteward; Document and clearly communicate test results to the eSteward team; Work with the eSteward team and peer offices to resolve any identified problems. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preference will be given to candidates with a working knowledge of eSteward and the following eSteward source systems: LionPATH, IBIS, EASIS, Advance Data Warehouse, and/or GuideLION. Programming experience and knowledge of programming terminology is beneficial but is not required. Required skills include the ability to work under general supervision, while performing multiple assigned testing activities that are often varied and may be difficult; to interpret and document test results accurately; and to communicate those test results effectively. This position also requires a strong commitment to customer service; detailed oriented, excellent problem analysis and critical thinking skills; a requirement to maintain confidentiality and security of institutional data; outstanding verbal and written communication skills; and the ability to learn new things quickly and independently. This is a fixed-term position funded for one year from date of hire, with excellent possibility of re-funding. 83937

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
