Assistant / Associate / Professor of Criminology

Description The Department of Sociology and Criminology at The Pennsylvania State University, University Park campus, invites applications for a tenure-line position in the Criminology program to begin August, 2019. This is an open-rank position. We seek a methodologically sophisticated scholar with research and teaching expertise at the intersection of criminology and public policy. We encourage applications from individuals with a Ph.D. in sociology, criminology, public policy, or a related field. Preference will be given to candidates who can contribute to Penn State's new Master of Public Policy Program and to the Justice Center for Research. Senior candidates should have a strong publication record, a commitment to securing external funding, a commitment to training and placing graduate students, and evidence of excellence in teaching and mentoring undergraduate students. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
