Senior Director of Marketing and Communications

DESCRIPTION The College of Engineering is seeking a Senior Director of Marketing and Communications to lead strategically directed, comprehensive local, state, national and/or international print, broadcasting, and new media public relations campaigns to keep the public informed of the programs and achievements of the College of Engineering. This position reports to the Dean of the College of Engineering and will serve as a key adviser to College leadership when crisis communications or public relations issues arise. The Senior Director is responsible for the creation, implementation, and oversight of the College of Engineering's strategic plan for marketing and communications. This position will lead and direct a team of 12 professionals responsible for the design, production, and dissemination of the College's key print and electronic materials which include an alumni magazine, electronic newsletters, periodic brochures, press releases, development materials, and special multi-media projects for the Dean and academic departments. This position will have the leading role in determining how the College will communicate and brand itself to internal and external audiences. The Senior Director will also oversee the content and functionality of the Engineering web and social media sites in coordination with the College's technology group. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus ten years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in marketing in a higher education and/or industry setting preferred. Experience in science communications is preferred. Employment will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies. The candidate must demonstrate a genuine appreciation for working with, and communicating to, diverse audiences and must be able to act independently as well as a member of a management team in all aspects of running an administrative unit. The Senior Director of Marketing and Communications must have an ability to understand how to utilize both traditional forms of communication (i.e. print material) and new media techniques to promote the College's accomplishments to a wide and diverse audience. Qualified candidates must possess a superior understanding of technology, strong communication and writing skills, assertive personality to access information, strong relationship-building skills to encourage information sharing, and will be required to work occasional evenings and weekends for special events. 83646

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
