Postdoctoral Researcher

Description The Center for Computational Mathematics and Applications (CCMA) in the Department of Mathematics at The Pennsylvania State University, University Park is seeking scholars for postdoctoral appointments. Successful candidates will hold a Ph.D. in mathematics or related field (such as physics, engineering, computer science). The position requires expertise in numerical methods for partial differential equations with Fortran, C, or C++ programming. Appointed candidates will work closely with the faculty at the CCMA on research related to numerical methods for partial differential equations or big data. The postdoctoral scholar will contribute to a number of research projects including the CCMA's projects supported by the NSF, the DOE and industries. These appointments may include the possibility of teaching. This is a non-tenure track appointment (48 weeks). The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
