Associate Professor / Professor of History

DESCRIPTION The Department of History at The Pennsylvania State University invites applications for an open rank position with a preference for an Associate or full Professor in the history of the U.S. Civil War Era. Candidates must have Ph.D. in hand at the time of application. We are interested in scholars working in any aspect of the Civil War era, including, but not limited to, race, slavery, gender, borderlands, and environmental history. Candidates are expected to have a strong research record, teaching expertise in nineteenth-century America, and an interest in engaging with the Richards Civil War Era Center and other intellectual life on campus. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
