Research Technologist 2

A Research Technologist position is open immediately in the laboratory of Dr. Thomas Spratt, in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the Penn State College of Medicine. The Spratt Lab uses chemical approaches to study mechanisms of DNA damage and the cellular DNA damage response. Primary duties will include maintenance and genetic manipulation of mammalian cells in culture, development of cellular assays to study DNA damage, repair and mutagenesis. A background in cell culture, genetic manipulation of cultured mammalian cells is advantageous. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. This is a fixed term appointment funded one year from date of hire with the possibility of refunding

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
