The Department of Psychology in the College of the Liberal Arts (http://psych.la.psu.edu/) announces one open rank tenure line faculty position to start in Fall 2019. We seek a candidate with research focused on substance abuse during adolescence, broadly defined and/or on consequences for children of substance abuse in parents. The successful candidate will affiliate with the graduate training program in developmental or child clinical psychology and should have an established and influential research program in one or more of the following areas: a) developmental pathways to substance abuse, including prenatal exposure; b) negative spillover of parental substance abuse on children's development, including on substance use during adolescence; c) impact of adolescent substance abuse on families and communities; d) basic research on biological, cognitive-affective, and social-familial mechanisms that can inform both developmental models and intervention efforts; and e) development and evaluation of interventions to prevent and treat adolescent substance abuse or to mitigate effects on families, including effects on parenting. We welcome candidates with research programs that incorporate multiple levels of analysis, including social and societal context. We seek faculty members who are interested in and committed to participating in an inter-disciplinary community of scholars at Penn State contributing to the mission of the new Consortium to Combat Substance Abuse (CCSA; https://opioid.psu.edu/). This position will be co-funded by the Social Sciences Research Institute (SSRI; http://www.ssri.psu.edu/) and will be supported by the Child Study Center (csc.psych.psu.edu), which is housed in the Department of Psychology and functions as a university-wide translational research center, supporting advances in developmental science aimed at promoting positive educational, health, and mental health outcomes for children, adolescents, and families. Strong collaborative links exist with the other centers that form the new consortium, as well as with the PSU Psychological Clinic and satellite centers in urban areas throughout the state. This individual will also have access to research facilities and institutes at Penn State, including the Social, Life and Engineering Sciences Imaging Center (https://www.imaging.psu.edu); Prevention Research Center (http://prevention.psu.edu/); Huck Institute of Life Sciences (https://www.huck.psu.edu/); Center for Educational Disparities Research (http://www.ssri.psu.edu/center-educational-disparities-research); Methodology Center (https://methodology.psu.edu/); Quantitative Developmental Systems Core (https://quantdev.ssri.psu.edu/); Child Maltreatment Solutions Network (http://solutionsnetwork.psu.edu/); Population Research Institute (www.pop.psu.edu); Center for Healthy Aging (http://healthyaging.psu.edu), Africana Research Center (http://arc.la.psu.edu/); Penn State Cancer Institute (https://cancer.psu.edu/); Institute for CyberScience (https://ics.psu.edu) and the Penn State Clinical and Translational Science Institute (http://ctsi.psu.edu/). Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
