The University is in a unique position to support a Sustainability Internship through a Pepsi Challenge Mini Grant. This is the first time that we will be offering this internship. The student that will be hired for this position will be doing preliminary work in the first semester through a 1 credit independent study and completing a 300 hour internship in the spring semester. To qualify for this internship you must have an interest and desire to do field work in the sustainability and environmental field. The sustainability intern will provide Abington township with information to affect change in our communities. The Intern will be working on environmental justice and waste diversion efforts. Some of the specificduties that the intern will be involved in will be developing a plan to eliminate or make improvements to three sites that have been designated as environmental justice sites. The intern will also estimate the economic and social cost and develop a strategy that could move the plan through the Abington Township Board of Commissioners. The Intern will also work on awaste diversion plan with similar duties. This internship will be supported as they learn to develop the skills to do these projects. The following sills are needed: computer savvy with an understanding of spreadsheets and reports, willing to learn, possess strong written, verbal communications skills and public speaking skills, be flexible and dependable, takes initiative and completes projects in a timely manner, professional and detail oriented.



Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
