Student Affairs is seeking a marketing communications intern to fill a part-time position that will assist the Student Affairs communications manager with a wide variety of tasks. Responsibilities will include researching and writing news releases and feature stories about Student Affairs activities, managing social media accounts, and photographing people and events throughout the various Student Affairs units. The candidate will be expected to work closely with Student Affairs staff and student groups. The ideal candidate should have strong writing, reporting and interviewing skills, photography experience, and experience with social networking sites. The applicant must be dependable, organized, and demonstrate attention to detail. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite is preferred. Applicants should be a Penn State junior or senior undergraduate student majoring in journalism, marketing, public relations or a related field. This is a paid 15-20 hour/week position for Fall 2016 with the possibility of continuing for additional semesters. Please complete the web application, and upload a cover letter and resume.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
