JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Penn State IT is seeking candidates for the role of Security and Compliance Manager. This position leads the Security and Compliance Team and reports to the Associate Vice President (AVP) for Infrastructure. The Penn State IT Infrastructure division is responsible for running the underlying technologies that support the University's operations including wired and wireless networking, servers, storage, databases, software development platforms, logging, and monitoring. The location of this position is flexible and can operate fully remote within the United States, fully in-person at our University Park Campus, or in a hybrid model of both in-person and remote. Standard working hours are in the eastern time zone. There may be a need to for Security and Compliance manager to come to Penn State's University Park campus for occasional but infrequent events or meetings. Responsibilities of this position include:
Managing the Security and Compliance Team including development of goals and work plans, providing coaching on job responsibilities to encourage and support professional growth, performing evaluations, recommending salary changes, managing performance of team members, developing job postings, and making hiring decisions Serving as the primary liaison for Penn State IT with the Office of Information Security (OIS) and the Chief Information Security Officer to develop standards and processes including input and guidance on the organizational and systematic impact of proposed changes Ensuring adherence to University standards established by OIS in areas such as patching, security enclaves, compliance and risk by putting processes and procedures in place to ensure appropriate security practices are followed, measured and matured Coordinating and authoring responses for all audits of Penn State IT's systems and services including working with subject matter experts to identify, plan, document and track changes in response to shortcomings identified by auditors Developing strategic objectives to ensure Penn State IT's systems and services maintain the highest level of security and are fully compliant with all pertinent laws and regulations Preparing and presenting materials for University executives and the broader Penn State IT organization including regular reports on unit's security posture Developing proposals and recommendations on security investments and practices Managing budget for Security and Compliance team by preparing and proposing an annual budget, as well as approving and tracking expenditures over the course of the fiscal year Managing projects designed to improve Penn State IT's security posture including thoughtful project plans, appropriate reporting and meeting desired outcomes within budget and time constraints Assisting leadership in assessing risk associated with technology, operations and other activities Serving as a member of the Infrastructure Lead Team by forming close working relationships built on trust and shared vision to ensure the Infrastructure organization is well coordinated Actively participating in discussions and decision making around strategy, resource planning, budgets and operations A deep understanding of system and network security principles, technologies, regulations, and strategies is preferred, however highly motivated leaders with excellent communication and management skills for this role even if they have less than a deep understanding of these areas are encouraged to apply. Excellent communication skills and the demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate across organizational boundaries with a diverse set of partners, stakeholders, leaders, and peers is required. Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. This position will require successful completion of standard background checks. Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
Auditing & ComplianceEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
