JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Penn State College of Medicine in Hershey, PA is seeking a communications manager to provide day-to-day oversight of the communications team members. This position is responsible for leading the team on the development, planning, research and execution of communications strategies that align to the strategic plan for the organization. The Communications Manager will serve as the communications lead for all executive communications for the dean, vice deans and other senior executives in the College. This role will also be responsible for providing leadership on all communications strategies for their team related to the College of Medicine; will lead and/or delegate assignments to communications staff. The role exists to provide communications counsel and direct communications support in developing executive messages for the College leadership team that convey an executive's vision or provide strategic guidance to various stakeholders in the College of Medicine community. The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor's degree and at least 5 years' experience in communications, public relations or journalism. Experience with executive communications and leading a team of communicators a plus. The ideal candidate in this position will be a strong communicator who likes to work within a matrix-based team. The ability to present a strategy, goals and tactics in a clear, concise manner required. Ability to establish effective working relationships with and provide guidance to leadership, faculty, staff and students required. TYPICAL EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE 5

Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Background Check Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Criminal Background Check
Salary Range:
$100K -- $150K
Minimum Qualification
Communications & PREstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
